O Grove is a peninsula located at the entrance of the Arousa estuary, in the western part of the Salnés region, in north-western Spain, Galicia. It limits to the southeast with Sanxenxo. It occupies an area of 21 km² and is made up of two parishes (San Martiño and San Vicente) and a populated island, A Toxa.

A microclimate of its own, beaches with fine sand and crystal clear waters, a thermal destination and luxury cuisine make the Grove the Galician Caribbean.

A walk through the mystical

The beaches, the thermal waters, and the products of the sea, make the village of O Grove one of the most famous tourist attractions in Galicia. La Lanzada beach is known for being one of the largest in Galicia with clean and crystal clear waters.

There are two and a half kilometers of beaches in the Rías Baixas where unequaled dunes and intertidal complexes have formed. Local legend has it that “the beneficial power of ocean waves would fulfill the wish of women who wish to become pregnant.” Those who have children are said to have been subjected to the power of the Atlantic.

A magical legend that could not miss in the land of “Meigas” (Galician witches).

Through gastronomy

The gastronomic offer of O Grove is another of the great reasons that make this piece of Galicia a place to know, and it is that you can eat a fantastic octopus in the most informal beach bar and at a reasonable price or opt for elegance and sophistication of a first-class restaurant with a Michelin star.

Or history...

La Toja Island is well known, both for its medicinal mineral springs and its healing legend and for its views. It is a small island that is worth visiting and taking a short tour of its interior. Its promenade and seeing the handmade shell necklaces when returning from walking around La Toja Island, the “Shell Capital” or “Saint Sebastian’s Chapel” is a regular stop as it is the only one little chapel of its kind covered with scallop shells, placed by hand one by one.

The great Santiago Ramón y Cajal once said of her: “Art and science, working in concert, have enhanced the work of nature in La Toja”.

Strolling through the streets and squares of O Grove and admiring the sculptural works exhibited in them is an option that every visitor should consider. There are more than 50 works of art permanently exhibited.
