Arsenal Park is the only tourist complex based on a military concept in Romania and South-Eastern Europe, providing accommodation for 180 guests and a minimum of 100 camping places. Built on a former ammunition factory, this holiday complex covers 88 hectares and is like an open-air Military Museum, a territory of great adventures to set the adrenalin on.
Arsenal Park hosts military training, archery, airsoft, and paintball gun target shooting, airsoft, and paintball fights, armored rides, draisine competitions, using golf cars, mountain bikes, city bikes, Jeep Wrangler Go Kart bikes, and Segway. Sports fans have their own multifunctional ground and a minigolf course and a fitness park and a big Aqua Park, while indoors they can play billiards, darts, poker, table tennis, or table football.
Corvin Castle, also known as Hunyadi Castle or Hunedoara Castle, is a Gothic-Renaissance castle in Hunedoara, Romania. It is one of the largest castles in Europe and figures in lists of the Seven Wonders of Romania.
The Deva citadel was built at the half of the 13th century on the Cetatii hill, a volcanic neck with a height of 378 meters, on fortifications dating from ancient times. Being an important object in the defense of Transylvania, the Deva fortress rises over the city bearing the same name.
The medieval fortress of Alba Carolina was part of a fortification system created by Prince Eugene of Savoy designed to ensure the defenses of the newly conquered provinces of the Habsburg Empire. It is one of the most representative Vauban bastion fortifications in Transylvania, and it became one of the Roman Empire’s main fortifications in the area.
Cincis is a barrier lake located in Poiana Rusca Mountains in a picturesque area, about 10 kilometers from Hunedoara. It is one of the most entertaining places in Hunedoara County, attracting thousands of tourists all over the country who come here drawn by the beauty and the peacefulness of the location.
When the water level is low, at the end of the dam you can still see the ruins of the former Cinci’s church, documented in 1360, being swallowed by water.
Transalpina (DN67C) is the highest road in Romania. It’s one of the famous Romanian high-altitude roads. With a length of 146 km, it goes through the Carpathian Mountains, topping out at 2.145m (7,037ft) above sea level in Pasul Urdele. In 2009 it was completely paved.
Located in the Parâng Mountains group, in the Southern Carpathians of Romania, it’s one of the most spectacular roads of the Carpathian Mountains. This road is closed during the cold months of the year but it can be closed anytime when the access is not cleared of snow. You can only imagine the landscapes you are bound to admire on your trip. Transalpina, known as “The Devil’s Path”, is Romania’s newest attraction twisting and turning from North to South across the Parang mountains.
More than 150 kilometers in length the Transfagarasan Highway is Romania’s most spectacular and best-known road and, thanks to an appearance on BBC Top Gear in 2009, is now one of the country’s most popular tourist attractions. Fully open only from June to October, the road’s highest point is at 2042 meters: the tunnel which links the northern and southern sides at Lake Balea.
The Transfagarasan has never been more popular. Always a favorite destination on a weekend’s trip for Romanian drivers. Its international fame brings motoring enthusiasts from all over Europe each summer.
